Your world is turned upside down when you find out your child has health problems, no less so when the heart is involved. This happens to at least 1,400 families every year, and often lifesaving operations are the only answer.
The Heartbeat Foundation organises one-day activities and holidays for families with a young heart patient and provide the necessary care at the same time. Fun and relaxation are paramount in all Heartbeat Foundation activities. The foundation organises the annual HeartRace Circuit Day – a day dedicated to racing on the Circuit of Zandvoort and HeartBallooning – culminating in a balloon ride. Other activities include HeartGolf for Kids – the children are playfully introduced to golf – and various visits to zoos and amusement parks.
To make this well-deserved holidays possible, Heartbeat Foundation has had vacation homes - called HeartVillas - since 2014. There is a HeartVilla in Otterlo, where a family can enjoy a wonderful holiday every week. At the end of 2018, the foundation opened its second HeartVilla in Winterberg, Germany. De Projectgroep, did our bit by taking care of the complete furnishing and construction supervision. This way the foundation can really spend its money on the needs of the children who need it so badly.
